About the position

The Designer / Drafter II position at Spray-Tech / Junair involves creating detailed 3D parametric parts and shop drawings for fabrication, utilizing Autodesk Inventor and other design software. The role requires a dependable and experienced individual who can take projects from concept to completion while adhering to internal design standards and collaborating with the team to ensure high-quality industrial solutions.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D parametric parts files for sub-assemblies and final assemblies for fabrication.
• Maintain and add to the company's Autodesk Vault parts and assembly catalog.
• Create parts, weld, and assembly shop drawings for fabrication.
• Modify existing designs to conform to internal design standards.
• Create rapid sales informational cut sheets for customer approvals.
• Use ERP management software and Genius Shop System software.
• Create shipping lists and labels using Groove Packer software.

Requirements

• Minimum 2-year Technical College or an Associate's degree in Drafting or Design.
• 3 years minimum experience in Autodesk Inventor, Vault, and AutoCAD Mechanical.
• 3 years minimum experience in sheet metal design.
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Ability to accurately estimate timelines for design project milestones.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret customer drawings and specifications.
• Fundamental knowledge of fabrication processes and capabilities of sheet metal and structures.
• Strong communication skills through verbal and written documentation.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Kanban parts management systems.
• Sigma six degree (White or Yellow) in lean manufacturing.
