Responsibilities

  • Develop plans, details, and sections for civil and mining projects.
  • Manage construction contracts and reports.
  • Oversee rights-of-way acquisitions for various projects.
  • Work on regrading former surface mine areas and sealing mine openings.
  • Address underground mine fires and install drainage control structures.
  • Demolish derelict mine buildings and stabilize subsidence-prone areas.
  • Treat mine drainage and restore wetlands affected by acid mine drainage.
  • Address replacement or treatment of individual water supplies impacted by coal mining.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience as a Drafter; or
  • Two years of experience as an Environmental Engineering Technician with at least one year of drafting work and six months of CADD experience; or
  • Two years of drafting experience with an Associate's Degree in engineering technology or Computer Aided Drafting and Design; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training, including six months of CADD experience.
