About the position

The Drafter/Designer at Harris Group will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, responsible for preparing engineering and construction drawings using both manual and computer-assisted drafting techniques. This role involves applying engineering fundamentals to design tasks and preparing preliminary designs for approval by senior staff. The position emphasizes collaboration with engineers and architects across various disciplines, contributing to the successful delivery of complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and update existing AutoCAD drawings based on mark ups provided by senior designers or engineering staff.
• Create new drawings under the direction of senior design staff.
• Support vendor drawing review and approval process.
• Organize drawing production to support project schedules and conform to project scope.
• Prepare lists, spreadsheets, and databases to document information related to design drawings.

Requirements

• An associate's degree or drafting certificate; or any equivalent combination of education and drafting/design experience.
• Ability to use a computer and computer software programs, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to read drawings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel to an off-site location and/or accept client site assignments when required.
• Work cooperatively with other drafters and other disciplines to produce a coordinated set of design documents.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
