About the position

The position involves preparing detailed working drawings of products, parts, machinery, and mechanical devices using computer-aided design (CAD) software. The role requires transforming initial product designs into working documents, creating Bills of Materials (BOMs), and supporting various departments by answering questions from both internal and external customers. The individual will also review existing engineering drawings to ensure compliance with established specifications and standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed working drawings of products, parts, machinery, and mechanical devices.
• Transform initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD.
• Create Bills of Materials (BOMs), routes, and drawings.
• Support other departments and answer questions from internal and external customers.
• Review current engineering drawings and designs for adherence to specifications and standards.
• Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for products and mechanical equipment using CAD.
• Coordinate with other workers to resolve design problems.
• Review and analyze specifications, sketches, and related data affecting component designs.
• Produce and update BOMs and routes as required.
• Create prototype drawings and follow them through prototype runs and final production.
• Compute mathematical formulas to develop specifications for components or machinery.
• Complete New Product Request Forms, Pricing Only Request Forms, and Engineering Change Notices accurately.
• Modify and revise designs to correct deficiencies or reduce production problems.
• Design scale or full-size blueprints and layout schematic views.
• Print drawings for the Production Department as needed.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• An Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• One to two years of related experience and/or training is required.
• Experience with CAD software is required, preferably Solidworks.
