About the position

We are currently seeking a Drafter/Designer to join our team in Fort Worth, TX. This position will be utilizing Autodesk Inventor on a daily basis, which is essential for creating detailed designs and drawings. The Drafter/Designer will be responsible for reviewing specifications and engineered designs to ensure they are constructible and manufacturable. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to communicate effectively with team members to resolve any discrepancies in customer documents. The Drafter/Designer will create Submittal Drawings and Shop Drawings based on engineering data and customer requirements. Timeliness is crucial, as the individual will need to complete drawings, DXF files, and Bills of Material according to project deadlines. Checking one's own work for completeness and accuracy is a critical part of the job, as is making necessary corrections to drawings based on redlines, ensuring proper documentation is maintained throughout the process. Additionally, the Drafter/Designer will perform other job-related tasks as assigned by the Drafting Manager and will work closely with cross-functional team members to ensure project success. This position is fully on-site, emphasizing collaboration and teamwork in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews specifications and engineered designs for constructability and manufacturability.
  • Reviews customer documents and discusses any discrepancies with the appropriate team member(s).
  • Creates Submittal Drawings and Shop Drawings based on engineering data and/or customer requirements.
  • Completes drawings, DXF files, and Bills of Material on time per project requirements.
  • Checks own work for completeness and accuracy prior to submission for approval and fabrication.
  • Makes corrections to drawings from redlines with proper documentation.
  • Performs other job-related tasks as assigned by the Drafting Manager.
  • Works closely with cross-functional team members.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor for drafting and design.
  • Experience in reviewing specifications and engineered designs.
