About the position

The Drafter/Designer position at Actalent involves supporting underground transmission line project work by developing detailed drawings and plan & profile drawings necessary for permitting and construction packages. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of design documents in the Power Delivery Underground Transmission Line Group.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed drawings and plan & profile drawings for underground transmission line projects.
• Support permitting and construction packages with accurate design documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers and other team members to ensure project requirements are met.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or technical education in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
• Experience in drafting/design for underground utilities or telecommunications.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience creating alignments, profiles, surfaces, and pipe networks in Civil 3D.
• Ability to self-check work for completeness and accuracy.
• Working knowledge of survey coordinate systems and experience interpreting surveys.
• Experience with MicroStation is a plus.
• Strong mathematics skills.
