About the position

Zachry Nuclear Engineering, Inc. (ZNE) is seeking a Drafter, Electrical and I&C for a direct hire position located in Charlotte, NC or Stonington, CT. The Drafter will utilize manual and computerized drafting methods to prepare various electrical and control drawings, including wiring diagrams, one-lines, and schematics. The role requires the ability to draft complex drawings in both 2-D and 3-D environments, demonstrating proficiency in electrical design representation.

Responsibilities

• Apply manual and computerized drafting methods to prepare electrical and control drawings.
• Draft complex drawings in a 2-D or 3-D environment as per project requirements.
• Draw complex electrical systems from sketches using appropriate symbology and drafting standards.
• Prepare bills of material and resolve client comments.
• Prepare as-built drawings under the direction of a supervisor.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in drafting/design/engineering technology or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of one year experience in engineering drafting and familiarity with basic drafting techniques.
• Ability to accurately draw complex electrical/controls systems from sketches or specifications.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize various drafting and CADD techniques for project requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Laser Scanning tools, total stations, software, and registration.
