About the position

The Drafter, Electrical and I&C position at Zachry Nuclear Engineering, Inc. involves applying manual and computerized drafting methods to prepare various electrical and control drawings. The role requires the ability to draft complex drawings in both 2-D and 3-D environments, utilizing information provided by engineers or design staff. The Drafter will also be responsible for preparing bills of material, resolving client comments, and creating as-built drawings under the supervision of a manager.

Responsibilities

• Prepare various electrical and control drawings including wiring diagrams, one-lines, and schematics.
• Draft complex drawings in a 2-D or 3-D environment as per project requirements.
• Demonstrate the ability to draw complex electrical systems from sketches using appropriate symbology and drafting standards.
• Prepare bills of material and resolve client comments.
• Create as-built drawings based on project specifications.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in drafting/design/engineering technology or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school.
• One year of experience in engineering drafting and familiarity with basic drafting techniques.
• Ability to accurately draw complex electrical/controls systems from sketches or specifications.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize various drafting and CADD techniques for project requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Laser Scanning tools, total stations, software, and registration.
