About the position

The Drafter position at Electrex, Inc. involves preparing detailed drawings based on customer specifications and requirements, utilizing CAD skills to contribute to the manufacturing of electrical systems such as wire harnesses and battery cables. Responsibilities

• Prepare drawings per customer specifications based on verbal instructions, sketches, and formal documents.
• Gather specifications from documents, customer interviews, and product measurements to ensure accurate project details.
• Create detailed renderings using advanced computer-aided drafting (CAD) techniques.
• Contribute to the preparation of cost estimates for various customer projects.
• Utilize cutting-edge CAD equipment and stay updated with the latest CAD technology principles and applications.
• Ensure the quality and accuracy of electrical assemblies through meticulous attention to detail.
• Assist with prototype builds, ensuring the final physical harness is ready for production release.
• Document and correct any defects or improvements during the build process.
• Analyze customer electrical drawings, schematics, and sample assemblies to ensure accurate translations.
• Convert customer electrical needs into Electrex documentation using Arcadia and other specialized software.
• Support the production line by promptly correcting or modifying production documentation as needed.
• Respond to a wide range of customer inquiries and concerns with professionalism and efficiency.
• Build strong connections with customers, providing service that encourages repeat business.
• Enter new parts into Arcadia for librarian review, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and accurate.

Requirements

• Associates degree in CAD or a similar field of study.
• 1+ years of production experience.
• Experience with an ERP like Syteline or SAP is helpful.
• Proficiency in Arcadia, Autodesk, SOLIDWORKS, or other CAD programs is strongly preferred.
• 3D modeling & design and additive manufacturing experience is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using calipers, micrometers, multi-meters.
• Proficient typing speed of 40 to 50 words per minute.
