About the position

As a Drafter (Electronics) at HOA Solutions, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of electrical control panel drawings. Your primary responsibilities will include consulting with engineers to interpret design concepts and determine the requirements for detailed working drawings. You will examine electronic schematics and supporting documents to develop, compute, and verify specifications for drafting data, including the configuration of parts, dimensions, and tolerances. Your expertise will be essential in drafting and compiling electrical and control schematics, as well as creating two and three-dimensional construction layout drawings. In this position, you will also review work orders and procedural manuals, conferring with vendors or design staff to resolve any problems or modify designs as necessary. Collaboration with technical personnel will be key as you prepare designs or operational plans, and you will need to work closely with other team members to address design or operational issues. Additionally, you will coordinate with the production team to modify control panel drawings before they are delivered to customers, ensuring that all technical documents are thoroughly reviewed to plan your work effectively. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and excellent communication skills, as you will be working in a dynamic environment where attention to detail is paramount. You will be expected to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines, while also being prepared for some physical demands associated with the job, such as occasional lifting and working in tight spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with engineers to discuss or interpret design concepts or determine requirements of detailed working electrical control panel drawings
  • Examine electronic schematics and supporting documents to develop, compute, and verify specifications for drafting data, such as configuration of parts, dimensions, or tolerances
  • Draft and compile electrical and control schematics and also two and three dimensional construction layout drawings
  • Review work orders or procedural manuals and confer with vendors or design staff to resolve problems or modify design
  • Confer with technical personnel to prepare designs or operational plans
  • Confer with other personnel to resolve design or operational problems
  • Coordinate with the production team to modify control panel drawings prior to delivery to customers
  • Review technical documents to plan work

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree
  • 2 years experience working within a similar environment
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Experience in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) software (EPLAN, AutoCAD or similar)
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time, with small amounts of bending, stretching, and lifting
  • Physical hand dexterity and full range of motion for operation of basic office machines
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Some physical labor may be required, i.e. occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., working in tight spaces, climb ladders, etc.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus
