The Drafter I position at Dashiell involves performing drafting duties using basic skills and techniques specifically for medium to high voltage substation or transmission line drawings. This role is designed for entry-level candidates and is closely supervised to help develop a comprehensive understanding of drafting techniques, corporate standards, and client procedures. Drafters will be assigned to specific design projects, which may include Electrical, Transmission, or Civil/Structural disciplines. In this role, the drafter will be responsible for revising CADD drawings based on engineering markups and performing various engineering support tasks under direct supervision, such as managing transmittals. The position requires the drafter to learn and apply corporate and client standards of drafting and engineering practices, as well as to effectively use document management systems. A key aspect of the job is taking personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of work produced, and proactively bringing any potential project-related issues and solutions to the attention of the responsible party. The position may also require occasional travel out of town for short periods, depending on project needs. Other duties may be assigned as necessary, contributing to a dynamic work environment that fosters learning and professional growth.
