About the position

A Mechanical Drafting/3D Modeling Position in Walpole, MA is currently available through Belcan. In this role, you will be supporting our client onsite in their engineering facility, specifically assisting the Defense Naval Services team. Your primary responsibilities will include studying, designing, and optimizing new and current packaging for customer products. As a modeler and engineer, you will play a crucial role in assessing, designing, and executing improvements on both current and future packaging solutions. You will be responsible for creating new drawings and executing drawing changes, supporting the design process for packaging materials, which includes conceptual design, CAD modeling, and engineering drawings. Additionally, you will provide an engineering presence for ongoing concept design reviews and will own responsibility for any design changes that arise. Your contributions will also extend to continuous improvement activities, where you will identify areas for enhancement in the design and packaging processes. This position requires a collaborative approach, as you will be working directly with customer stakeholders and the Belcan client team. Your ability to communicate effectively and work within a team environment will be essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Create new drawings and execute drawing changes
  • Support the design process for packaging material including conceptual design, CAD modeling, and engineering drawings
  • Provide an engineering presence for ongoing concept design reviews and own responsibility for any design changes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities by identifying areas of improvement

Requirements

  • 3D Models and 2D DWG experience in CREO or any other 3D CAD tools
  • Creating manufacturing drawings from 3D models and conversant with GD&T
  • Matlab experience
  • Ability to work in office all 5 days in a week
  • US citizenship is required due to the nature of the work
  • Capable and willing to work in a collaborative team environment

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related STEM field
  • Experience in aerospace or naval industries
  • App creation, advanced features in Matlab/CREO a plus
  • Strong communication skills
