About the position

The Technical Illustrator position at Talent Finders, LLC is a newly created role aimed at supporting the creation of detailed product and service manuals for complex machinery systems. The ideal candidate will utilize CAD drafting skills, particularly in Autodesk Inventor, to extract drawings and create original illustrations that align with project goals. This role involves collaboration with engineers and manufacturing leaders, as well as capturing photographs of machine systems for use in manuals. Responsibilities

• Create original illustrations that align with project goals and client expectations.
• Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing leaders, and sales to develop visual concepts of a variety of equipment product lines.
• Utilize Autodesk Inventor to extract product drawings for use in manuals.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to contribute innovative ideas for projects.
• Ensure all illustrations are completed on time and meet quality standards.
• Revise illustrations based on feedback from team members or clients.
• Stay updated on industry trends and techniques in illustration and design.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in CAD strongly preferred.
• Experience with Autodesk Inventor preferred.
• Experience with exporting CAD files for use by technical writers or training developers.
• Experience using 3D CAD software.
• Ability to extract specific parts or layers from a particular Autodesk Inventor drawing and enhance it with color, line modification, shading, and other visual elements to be used in technical manuals and training guides.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Nice-to-haves

• Prefer someone who has worked in an engineering environment of such products as manufacturing machinery, recreational vehicles, heavy equipment, or any type of industrial maintenance equipment.
