About the position

The CAD Designer or CAD Drafter at Cavco Industries, Inc. plays a crucial role in producing graphic renderings and construction drawings for various housing models. This position involves collaboration with Sales, Engineering/Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure the timely completion of drafting projects. The role emphasizes maintaining drafting standards and managing production drawings and bills of material.

Responsibilities

• Develops accurate and complete production drawings, bills of material, and vendor drawings for assigned models and/or projects.
• Coordinates the drawings and bills of material with other Drafters, Sales, or Manufacturing in common projects to ensure timely completion.
• Maintains current Drafting Standards to ensure continuity during the drawing and bill of material development process.
• Maintains the library of production drawings and bills of material for central reference across departments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma with exposure to Drafting Fundamentals.
• One or more years of manufacturing assembly experience or drafting experience.
• Strong computer skills with relevant software packages, preferably AutoCAD; Chief Architect is a plus.
• Strong mechanical skills.
• Motivated self-starter with a strong tolerance for change.
• Problem-solving skills and mathematical skills.
• Ability to work well with others.
