About the position

The Drafter position at Gate Precast is a full-time role responsible for the development of production shop tickets and shop drawings for concrete products such as sinks, countertops, and treads using Revit (BIM). This role is crucial in ensuring that the products are built to specifications by creating accurate production tickets and collaborating with management to verify that all details and drawings are completed correctly. The Drafter will interact with various departments including Engineering, Sales, Production, and Quality Control to ensure that product requirements are met effectively. The position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 3:45 PM, with the possibility of overtime and occasional Saturday work. The Drafter will be expected to maintain good housekeeping practices and adhere to safety policies and procedures at all times. This role is primarily office-based but will also involve some outdoor work in a production environment, necessitating the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as work boots, hard hats, and safety glasses. The Drafter must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 lbs and will be exposed to various environmental conditions including sun, heat, humidity, and dust.

Responsibilities

  • Development of production shop tickets and shop drawings for concrete products in Revit (BIM).
  • Creating production tickets and ensuring details and drawings are completed correctly.
  • Interacting with Engineers, Sales, Production, and Quality Control to meet product requirements.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping and following safety policies and procedures.
  • Performing additional duties as requested or required.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a related field.
  • Experience using Autodesk products including AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), and Rhino.
  • Revit experience is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to read blueprints and detailed drawings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
