The drafter is responsible for creating accurate technical construction drawings, building and site maps, and building specifications using both manual and computer-assisted techniques, specifically AutoCAD architecture and Revit. This role is crucial in providing design services for new or renovation construction projects and optimizing office space utilization. The drafter will coordinate with internal customers and third-party vendors to develop facility and interior design options and solutions, leading to the creation of comprehensive construction plans. In addition to design services, the drafter will develop schematic design cost estimates and project budget cost packages. They will conduct project plan reviews to ensure that bid packages meet the desired specifications and that building floor plans and furniture layouts comply with federal, state, and local building codes, as well as ADA standards. This responsibility accounts for 40% of the role. The drafter will also be tasked with developing and maintaining the company's building plans to ensure accurate allocation of building costs to individual business units and affiliates, which constitutes 30% of their duties. Furthermore, they will oversee the development of construction project specifications and scope of services, manage requests for proposals, conduct bid reviews, and coordinate with procurement for supplier and contractor selection related to building construction, interior design, and furnishings, which makes up 15% of their responsibilities. Understanding and implementing physical security standards and CIP requirements for departments and buildings is another critical aspect of the role, accounting for 5%. The drafter will also aid in developing Business Continuity plans as they impact MEC facilities, which is another 5% of their responsibilities. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed, which can account for up to 5% of the role.
