About the position

Miba Industrial Bearings is seeking a Drafter to join our dynamic team in Deer Park, TX. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with experience in reverse engineering and drafting. As a Drafter, you will play a crucial role in generating detailed and assembly drawings using ACAD, SE-8, or SolidWorks software, tailored to meet customer requirements and adhere to MIBA standards. Your work will involve reverse engineering both new and used parts, as well as preparing repair or make-new drawings based on these components and applicable standards. Miba is a leader in developing and producing functionally critical components across the energy value chain. Our products contribute significantly to the efficient and sustainable generation, transmission, storage, and use of energy. We manufacture a variety of components, including powder metal parts, bearings, friction materials, and power electronics components, which are utilized globally in vehicles, ships, aircraft, agricultural and construction machinery, wind power turbines, and power grids. In this role, you will be expected to complete repair dispositions on customer-supplied bearings and seals, assist senior drafters with complex assemblies, and generate drawings necessary for the manufacturing of new replicated parts. You will also be responsible for investigating and suggesting product and process changes to enhance quality and reduce costs, contributing to our goals of productivity, safety, and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Complete repair dispositions on new and used customer supplied bearings and seals.
• Assist Senior Drafter with more complicated assemblies.
• Complete ECO's based upon marked up prints and/or information supplied by sales.
• Reverse engineer customer supplied parts utilizing precision measuring instruments.
• Accurately use and read micrometers, calipers, height gages, etc.
• Review work of other department members.
• Generate appropriate drawings for repair of customer supplied parts.
• Generate drawings as required to manufacture new replicated parts.
• Investigate and suggest product and process changes to ensure quality and reduce costs.
• Contribute to meeting productivity, safety and cost challenges.

Requirements

• AAS degree or five years related experience.
• Proven competency with 3-D drafting software, preferably SolidWorks.
• Proven competency with the suite of Microsoft Office software and computers.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Self-motivated with a sense of urgency.
• Personable and able to work in a team environment.
• Well organized.
