The drafter position is integral to the design and development process, acting as a bridge between architects, engineers, and production teams. This role involves gathering product and structural requirements, calculating dimensions, and specifying materials to create detailed designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Drafters are responsible for ensuring that all technical plans are accurate and comply with relevant regulations and quality standards. They play a crucial role in drafting commercial projects, particularly using AutoCAD Architecture, and work closely with structural engineers to ensure project completion. In addition to drafting, the drafter must maintain existing client relationships and identify potential operational issues that may arise during the design process. This includes redesigning products to enhance functionality and ensuring that final designs meet customer needs and deadlines. Collaboration with CNC operators and production team managers is essential, as the drafter must be able to answer any questions that arise during the production phase. Overall, the drafter must possess strong analytical skills to read and interpret technical documents and reports, and be able to effectively communicate information to management and team members. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple projects while adhering to strict timelines and quality standards.
