About the position

As a Drafter at NOV, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Engineering and Product Development teams by generating and maintaining detailed drawings for new tooling and equipment, as well as upgrading existing equipment. Your primary responsibilities will include collaborating closely with engineers to ensure that all drawings meet the necessary specifications and standards. You will also be responsible for organizing and maintaining drawing files, ensuring that they are easily accessible and up-to-date. This position requires adherence to all company policies, including Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) guidelines, as well as Quality policies. You will be expected to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required and comply with all safety protocols while performing your duties. Additionally, you may be assigned other tasks as needed to support the team and the overall objectives of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Generate drawings for the development of new tooling and equipment or to upgrade existing equipment.
  • Create or maintain and revise product drawings as necessary in collaboration with Engineering and Product Development.
  • Maintain drawing files in an organized manner.
  • Wear appropriate PPE when in required areas.
  • Comply with all NOV Company policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Comply with all HSE policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Comply with all Quality policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
  • Experience in the drafting field preferred; formal training in drafting or design may be substituted for experience.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or equivalent software.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Basic math and writing skills.
  • Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties as required.
  • Ability to learn technical repair and assembly guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read drawings, instructions, or repair and assembly operations.
