About the position

The Drafter position at Vernet US involves preparing detailed working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices. The role requires proficiency in CAD software, specifically Creo, and a solid understanding of drafting principles within a manufacturing environment. The Drafter will communicate effectively on assigned projects and perform various drafting tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Drafting, laying out, and specifying technical devices and parts.
• Maintaining effective communications for assigned projects.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in a related field.
• 3+ years of related drafting experience.
• Knowledge of drafting principles in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Creo (9.0 preferred, 4.0 acceptable) for both 3D modeling and 2D drawings.
• Experience with a PLM system (Windchill preferred).
• Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (Epicor).
• Experience with database user interface and query software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to use calipers or micrometers to take measurements from parts and recreate them in CAD software.
• Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Ability to convert between Standard and Metric units (distance, temperature, pressure).
• Good listening and verbal communication skills.
