About the position

The Architectural Drafter position at Actalent offers an exciting opportunity for an energetic individual to join a collaborative team of architects. This role is designed for those who aspire to become registered architects and provides a flexible and friendly work environment. The primary responsibility of the Architectural Drafter will be to support lead architects by initiating custom projects and modifying existing plans using AutoCAD. The position also involves conducting building code research and assisting in the evaluation of building products and materials. In addition to technical drafting skills, the role requires excellent time management abilities, allowing the individual to prioritize tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail. Strong organizational skills are essential, as the drafter will be involved in various project support activities, including taking measurements and performing calculations for existing plans. The drafter will also participate in departmental meetings and training sessions as required, ensuring they stay updated on best practices and project requirements. Job site visits in Southeastern Wisconsin will be part of the role, where the drafter will measure project sites and existing buildings to gather necessary data for ongoing projects. This position is not limited to the listed duties; it may expand as management sees fit, providing opportunities for growth and development within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Providing architectural support to lead architects by starting custom projects or making changes to existing plans in AutoCAD.

Requirements

  • A degree in drafting, engineering, or a related field, or a bachelor's degree in drafting & design.
  • Proficiency in architectural blueprint reading.
  • Proficient in Revit.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
