About the position

The Drafter position at J & S Siding Inc. involves creating detailed drawings and designs for residential home construction. Responsibilities

• Create preliminary design sketches for residential homes
• Create design specifications, documentation, and material lists
• Estimate material and production costs for designs
• Prepare complete documentation packages for clients
• Verify drawings are correct to specifications, codes, and other regulations

Requirements

• Ability to operate computer-aided design software (i.e. AUTOCAD)
• Ability to multitask and manage several projects at a time
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Interpersonal skills to work within a team, taking directions from Managers
• Time management skills to complete work within the required timeframe
• Communication skills with an emphasis on reading and writing for creating documentation and reports
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop creative solutions
• Foundation in drawing creation
• Previous experience in residential industry is a plus
