About the position

The Drafter position at Barnmaster Supply LLC DBA MD Barnmaster involves working closely with the Engineering Manager to produce accurate manufacturing work orders based on pre-engineered building and barn designs. The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD or SolidWorks to create detailed drawings and parts lists that meet customer specifications. The Drafter will be responsible for ensuring that the manufacturing work orders align with the engineering plans, which involves effective communication with the sales team to clarify any ambiguities in the drawings. This position also entails managing change orders and tracking engineering changes associated with each sales order, ensuring that all modifications are documented and communicated effectively. In addition to creating manufacturing work orders, the Drafter will interact with the production crew to address any questions or concerns regarding the work orders. This role requires the creation of a Bill of Materials using the company's ERP system, Global Shop Solutions, which is essential for the production process. The Drafter will also need to utilize AutoCAD to establish point orientations and related layers, facilitating coordination with architects, civil engineers, and landscape architects. This position is full-time, with an expected work schedule of 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday, and is based in Ontario, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate manufacturing work orders using AutoCAD or SolidWorks based on pre-engineered building designs.
  • Communicate with the sales team to clarify engineering plan drawings and ensure they meet customer requirements.
  • Create and manage change orders and track engineering changes for each sales order.
  • Answer questions from the production crew regarding manufacturing work orders.
  • Create a Bill of Materials using the company's ERP system (Global Shop Solutions).
  • Utilize AutoCAD to establish point orientations and related layers for coordination with architects and engineers.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
  • Experience with Revit (1 year preferred).
  • Ability to operate computers and related software effectively.
  • Knowledge of schematics and metal building erection.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Global Shop Solutions ERP system.
  • Familiarity with architectural and engineering coordination.
