About the position

Gaven Industries, Inc. is seeking a temporary drafter to join our team in Saxonburg, PA. We specialize in manufacturing highly engineered systems for electromagnetic and RF shielding, providing solutions for IEMI, EMI, RFI, and HEMP/EMP. Our diverse customer base spans multiple verticals, serving thousands of government and commercial customers worldwide. As a drafter, you will utilize drafting software to prepare technical drawings for shielding-related products, ensuring that our designs meet the highest standards of quality and precision. In this role, you will be responsible for providing computer-aided design (CAD) drafting, preparing drawings and schematics derived from various specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches. You will coordinate and consult with engineers or designers to complete projects, transforming initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. Additionally, you will review engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards, collaborating with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs. This position may also involve additional duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of our projects. The length of the project is expected to be 6 months, with the potential for direct hire based on performance and business needs. We are looking for candidates who possess strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management. Proficiency in Inventor or similar drafting software is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Provides computer aided design (CAD) drafting, prepares drawings and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches
• Utilizes computer aided drafting software and other techniques, standards, and tools to prepare technical drawings
• Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects
• Transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software
• Reviews engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards
• Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs
• Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• Associates degree in Drafting & Design or equivalent work experience
• 2 or more years of related experience
• Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, and to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management
• Technical writing skills
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Proficiency in Inventor or similar drafting software
