About the position

The Drafting and Permitting Department Manager at Alta HR Consulting Group is responsible for overseeing the drafting and permitting processes for fire restoration projects. This role requires a strong background in permitting, drafting, and project coordination, with a focus on ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining quality across all projects. The manager will lead a team, optimize processes, and serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit permit applications for residential and commercial projects.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and ordinances.
  • Maintain relationships with local permitting offices to streamline processes.
  • Collaborate with engineers, estimators, and project managers to ensure accurate and compliant plans.
  • Coordinate with utility companies and local agencies for necessary services.
  • Oversee drafting deliverables for consistency and quality.
  • Lead and mentor the drafting and permitting team.
  • Provide training and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • Conduct performance reviews and set goals for team members.
  • Develop and implement efficient workflows and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of permits, plans, and approvals.
  • Generate reports on project progress and team performance.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for drafting and permitting inquiries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in drafting, permitting, or construction project management.
  • Proven experience managing a team.
  • Knowledge in CAD software, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools.
  • Strong understanding of local building codes and permitting processes.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with fire restoration projects.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project.
