About the position

The IT Project Manager at Oneida Technical Solutions will oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of IT projects at Fort Johnson. This role demands a strategic leader with strong technical expertise and project management skills, responsible for ensuring that all projects align with organizational goals, meet deadlines, and adhere to budget constraints while complying with DOD 8140 regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage IT projects from inception through completion, ensuring they meet scope, time, and cost constraints.
  • Develop project plans, including defining project scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with stakeholders, team members, and external partners.
  • Oversee risk management, quality assurance, and change management processes.
  • Ensure compliance with DOD 8140 standards and guidelines throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide regular project updates to leadership, including status reports, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
  • Manage project budgets, resources, and procurement activities, ensuring efficient allocation and utilization.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring project milestones are achieved.
  • Implement best practices in project management, adhering to industry standards and organizational policies.
  • Ensure documentation and project artifacts are maintained according to organizational standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT project management, preferably within a government or military environment.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of DOD 8140 compliance requirements and experience in maintaining security clearances.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Agile, Waterfall).
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
  • Experience working in a DOD environment and familiarity with military protocols and procedures is a plus.
