About the position

The Micar Company is seeking a skilled Draftsman to join our team in Decatur, IL. This full-time position offers a competitive pay range of $25.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on experience. The Draftsman will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and adherence to project specifications in all drafts. The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction industry and will be responsible for creating detailed schematics, developing 2D animations for project presentations, and estimating material and production costs for designs. The Draftsman will also verify that drawings are correct according to specifications, codes, and other regulations. The work schedule includes 10-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, with the possibility of weekend work as needed. The current shift at the North Shop is from 5:00 am to 3:30 pm, while the Corporate location operates from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm. Responsibilities

  • Ensure accuracy and adherence to project specifications in all drafts
  • Assist in the development of 2D animations for project presentations
  • Create design specifications, documentation, and material lists
  • Estimate material and production costs for designs
  • Verify drawings are correct to specifications, codes, and other regulations
