Scelzi Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Drafter/Designer with a minimum of 1 year of experience to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to prepare sales, manufacturing, and order drawings, both standard and custom, utilizing SolidWorks. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication and a high mechanical aptitude. This position requires close collaboration with the engineering, sales, and manufacturing teams to ensure the accuracy and feasibility of designs. Good communication skills are essential for success in this role. In this position, you will develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models using SolidWorks, ensuring complete product definition and bill of materials. You will work independently on projects while contributing to team success. The role involves creating and updating technical drawings with precise dimensional accuracy and designing and drafting parts or whole components of small and large assembly structured models. You will also collaborate with engineering to refine designs and ensure manufacturability, accurately measure and recreate complex geometries, and utilize SolidWorks surfacing and sheet metal tools as needed for specific projects. Additionally, you will manage and maintain design files using SolidWorks, coordinate with engineering and other departments to ensure products meet specifications outlined in the drawings, and adhere to quality standards. Documenting and reporting any discrepancies or issues with incoming orders will also be part of your responsibilities. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities but requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail.
