About the position

The Draftsperson will generate detailed architectural drawings, specifications, and collateral material as directed by senior staff. This role is crucial in producing construction documents utilizing Computer Aided Design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD. The construction documents will include floor plans, options, sections, elevations, utility plans, and details. Additionally, the Draftsperson will produce marketing materials using CAD, which will encompass brochures and web files. Coordination with team members is essential, including redlining and back-checking work, picking up redlines, and plotting drawings. The Draftsperson will also respond to municipality corrections through drawings and response letters, and coordinate the assembly, packaging, and/or shipping of architectural drawings, specifications, and structural calculations. This position requires a strong understanding of residential construction and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Produce Construction Documents utilizing Computer Aided Design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD.
• Produce Marketing Material utilizing CAD, including brochures and web files.
• Coordinate drawings with team members, redline/back-check work, pick-up redlines, and plot drawings.
• Respond to municipality corrections by means of drawings and response letters.
• Coordinate the assembly, packaging and/or shipping of architectural drawings, specifications, structural calculations, etc.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent degree required.
• CAD certificate from accredited school or the ability to demonstrate basic CAD proficiency.
• Minimum 2 years' experience drawing with CAD for a construction related field.
• Must be able to demonstrate basic residential construction knowledge.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Adobe.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience as a Sr. Draftsperson with over 10 years experience with a production homebuilder and serves as a trainer/source of knowledge for other Draftspersons.
• Knowledge of materials and methods, and construction techniques used in the construction or repair of residential buildings.
