Orbital Engineering, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Draftsperson to join our team in Garyville, LA. As a Draftsperson, you will work onsite at a large Heavy Industrial Client, assisting various crafts with drafting and developing projects for Orbital's customers. Your primary responsibility will be to utilize Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to create and revise mechanical documentation. This role will involve collaborating with engineers and craft personnel to ensure the accurate drafting of piping systems, vessels, and other plant equipment. You will also be responsible for preparing and revising Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), General Arrangement drawings, Equipment Location Drawings, and Isometric/CML drawings. Additionally, you may perform field surveys as required and interface with senior staff to complete both single and multidiscipline projects. Responsibilities

  • Assist engineers and other crafts in the drafting and revision of piping systems, vessels, and other plant equipment using AutoCAD.
  • Prepare and revise Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Prepare and revise General Arrangement, Equipment Location Drawings, Isometric/CML drawings, etc.
  • Interpret and translate field notes into electronic drawing deliverables.
  • Perform some field surveys as required.
  • Interface with various craft personnel and senior staff to complete single and multidiscipline projects.

Requirements

  • Specialized certification, training, or experience with AutoCAD software is required.
  • High School diploma required.
  • Technical trade school or college degree is highly preferred.
