About the position

Aguirre & Fields has an opening for a Drainage Engineer to work with our Water Resources team in the Fort Worth, TX, office. The position involves providing engineering expertise and applying broad knowledge of principles and practices in the specific practice area of Hydrology & Hydraulics. The Drainage Engineer will assist the Project Manager in leading the team to success by completing projects on schedule, within budget, and ensuring client and staff satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise project production based on individual project timelines and assigned priorities.
  • Acquire and apply general knowledge of principles and practices of related fields.
  • Assist PM with project duties (serve as a secondary point of contact for project coordination).
  • Evaluate and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to assigned projects.
  • Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of the engineering work necessary to complete primary project design elements, including project schedule, finances, and projections.
  • Work on multiple projects of moderate size or a portion of major projects.
  • Provide technical advice and or assistance as needed to project staff or discipline as needed.
  • Provide QC roles as required in areas of competency.
  • Serve as a discipline task lead on pursuits as requested by the Communities groups.
  • Assist in RFP responses as requested by the Communities groups.
  • Support and maintain the morale, welfare, professional development, training, and work-life balance of all assigned staff utilizing the Company's Guiding Principles.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, practices, and rules.
  • Serve as an example of proper conduct per Company Guiding Principles.
  • Perform R&D Responsibilities as programmed in annual goals.
  • Perform Community Responsibilities as programmed in annual goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from an ABET/EAC accredited program
  • Registered Professional Engineer
  • 5+ years relevant hydraulic design experience
  • Software experience in HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HEC-RAS 2D, HY-8, GEOPAK Drainage, and XP SWMM
  • MicroStation (preferred) or AutoCAD Experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
