About the position
The Drayage Sales Representative at BBI Logistics is responsible for driving sales within the drayage market by identifying and generating new leads, establishing relationships with key stakeholders, and converting leads into sales. This role requires a strong focus on negotiation and the ability to stay updated on industry trends to capitalize on emerging opportunities. The representative will collaborate with team members to ensure efficient drayage operations and expand the market presence in both the US and Mexico.
Responsibilities
- Identify and self-generate new leads within the drayage market.
- Establish initial contact with potential clients.
- Convert warm leads into sales.
- Initiate sales calls and develop strategic relationships with key stakeholders including shipping lines, logistics providers, freight forwarders, and port authorities.
- Utilize negotiation skills to reach mutually beneficial agreements with clients, carriers, and suppliers.
- Stay updated on industry trends to capitalize on emerging opportunities.
- Expand market presence in Mexico and continue operations in the US.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient drayage operations.
Requirements
- Experience in selling drayage services is required.
- Confidence and strong self-assuredness in cold-calling prospects and making sales.
- Mastery in closing deals.
- Entrepreneurial and competitive spirit.
- Strong ability to sell and negotiate with confidence.
- Ability to maintain composure in high-stress scenarios.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Nice-to-haves
- 1 year of experience in drayage (preferred).
- 1 year of sales experience (preferred).
