About the position

The Co-op position at SRI International's Integrated Systems and Solutions (InSYS) division involves working as part of a team of engineers to support the development of Intelligent Systems. The role includes system engineering responsibilities such as system modeling, developing system and software requirements, and creating test procedures and reports. The position offers a blend of remote work and in-office collaboration in Princeton, NJ.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems.
• Use system modeling or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments.
• Regularly report progress and status of tasks.
• Complete assigned tasks on time and meet technical requirements.
• Review customer specifications and develop system architecture to support them, considering cost as a key design variable.
• Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services.
• Support program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements.
• Develop prototypes to mitigate key development risks as directed.
• Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required.
• Participate in preparation of less complex proposals.

Requirements

• Current Drexel University student actively working to complete a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• Practical knowledge of UML and SysML design tools.
• Candidates must be US Citizens due to government requirements.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiar with Windows Visio.
• Familiar with System Modeling tools.
• Good technical writing skills in support of task documentation.
• Understanding of LINUX, Android and Windows Operating Systems.
• Familiar with MatLab.
