About the position

As a Driver Aggregates at CEMEX, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor trailer combination vehicle in various locations including city streets, job sites, and company property. Your primary duty will be to ensure the safe and efficient loading and unloading of products while adhering to all relevant regulations and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, as you will strive to meet customer expectations and achieve positive survey results that align with CEMEX's strategic objectives. You will develop and maintain working relationships with both internal and external customers to maximize opportunities and address their needs effectively. In addition to driving responsibilities, you will be expected to maintain the cleanliness and operational condition of your equipment, perform pre and post-trip inspections, and communicate effectively with your supervisor and dispatch team. You will also assist other employees as needed and may be required to perform minor roadside repairs. Safety is paramount in this role, and you will be expected to adhere to all CEMEX, DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and MSHA regulations at all times. Your ability to work as part of a team and cooperate with colleagues and customers will be essential to your success in this position.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive truck to and from destinations while adhering to DOT driving regulations and knowledge of area roads.
• Check loads to ensure products are being transported safely and appropriately.
• Verify directions with plant personnel before leaving to ensure correct delivery to customers and job sites.
• Strive to meet customer expectations and achieve positive customer satisfaction survey results.
• Develop working relationships with customers to maximize opportunities and address their needs.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness using approved materials and supplies.
• Keep personal appearance neat and clean, including maintaining a tucked-in shirt.
• Maintain contact with supervisor/dispatch for delivery instructions.
• Assist other company employees as needed.
• Complete pre and post-trip inspections on truck equipment and supplies.
• Perform roadside repairs as necessary, such as installing light bulbs.
• Maintain knowledge of traffic routes in the city.
• Follow orders and instructions from supervisors and management.
• Promote a team concept with all company employees and customers.
• Adhere to all CEMEX, DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and MSHA rules and regulations.
• Meet or exceed company safety standards.
• Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid commercial driver's license (CDL Class A).
• Minimum of 1-year experience as a CDL Driver.
• No DUI's or DWI's in the last 5 years on MVR.
• Acceptable CSA score with no more than 3 moving violations in the previous 7 years.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English; bilingual is a plus.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.
