About the position
The Driver position at Sheppard Pratt involves transporting patients and clients using a Health System van or automobile throughout the metropolitan area. The role includes maintaining driving records, observing and reporting patient behavior, and performing routine care for the vehicle. This position is essential for ensuring safe and timely transportation for individuals in need of health services.
Responsibilities
- Drive the Health System van or automobile to pick up and transport patients and clients.
- Maintain records of driving assignments and daily transportation logs.
- Observe, document, and report significant and unusual patient behavior to the supervisor.
- Perform routine duties to care for the van/automobile, including arranging for service and repairs as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, or 2 years of relevant driving work experience in lieu of a diploma.
- Valid Maryland driver's license and eligibility for a Sheppard Pratt driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- 2 years of driving experience with knowledge of Health System policies and safety regulations.
