About the position
The Driver-Class A CDL Delivery position at BFS Group LLC involves operating delivery vehicles and truck-trailer combinations to transport and deliver materials to customer sites. The role emphasizes adherence to safety regulations, timely delivery of undamaged goods, and providing professional customer service. The driver is responsible for maintaining vehicle cleanliness, performing safety checks, and ensuring compliance with delivery logs and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Load or assist with loading and securing products inside the delivery vehicle.
- Deliver customer orders to specified delivery sites and maneuver vehicles into loading or unloading positions.
- Assist customers with unloading materials safely and accurately.
- Verify order details and maintain logs of delivery duties including amounts, weights, mileage, and locations of deliveries.
- Act as a customer service liaison, handling customer concerns and resolving issues as they arise.
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of delivery vehicles and perform routine safety checks.
- Use handheld devices to ensure compliance with DVIR and HOS, except while driving.
- Maintain hours of service logs and perform pre/post trip inspection procedures.
- Perform credit/product return pick-ups and related paperwork.
- Operate a forklift or non-motorized material handling equipment to load and offload materials.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 21+ years old
- Valid driver's license and Class A CDL license
- Minimum of 1 year of delivery driving experience; 2 years of CDL driving experience strongly preferred
- Pass MVR report and obtain a DOT medical card
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Ability to read and speak the English language
