About the position

The Driver-Class A CDL Delivery position at Builders FirstSource involves operating delivery vehicles to transport and deliver building materials to customer sites. The role emphasizes safety, compliance with regulations, and providing excellent customer service while ensuring timely and undamaged deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Drive delivery vehicles and/or operate truck-trailer combinations to transport materials to customer sites.
• Load or assist with loading and securing products inside the delivery vehicle.
• Deliver customer orders to specified delivery sites and assist customers with unloading materials safely.
• Verify order details and maintain logs of delivery duties, including mileage and locations of deliveries.
• Act as a customer service liaison, handling customer concerns and resolving issues as they arise.
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of delivery vehicles and perform routine safety checks.
• Use handheld devices to ensure compliance with DVIR and HOS regulations, except while driving.
• Maintain hours of service logs and perform pre/post trip inspection procedures.
• Operate a forklift or non-motorized material handling equipment to load and offload materials.
• Attend periodic safety meetings and recommend changes to improve safety procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 21+ years old
• Valid driver's license
• Class A CDL license
• Minimum of 1 year of delivery driving experience
• 2 years of CDL driving experience strongly preferred
• Pass MVR report
• Obtain a DOT medical card
• Basic math and measurement skills
• Ability to read and speak the English language
