About the position

The Full-time Driver (DOT- CDL) position at Fastenal involves delivering products from distribution centers to branches and customer locations. The role requires operating a safe and well-maintained truck, unloading freight at various stops, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This position is integral to the transportation team, representing the company while providing excellent service to customers.

Responsibilities

• Utilizing a handheld scanner
• Unloading product from trucks by hand, pallet jack, or by forklift
• Providing excellent service to our branches and customers by delivering product in a prompt, efficient manner
• Interacting with our shipping and receiving departments
• Maintaining a clean work environment within our equipment
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of work area
• Inspecting and reporting defects or issues in equipment
• Complying with DOT and Fastenal safety regulations
• Complying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations
• Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectives
• Learning, passing, and practicing various environmental health and safety trainings

Requirements

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Possess or are currently in progress of obtaining a Commercial Driver's License
• Possess a current Health Card OR have the ability to obtain one
• Possess a current Haz Mat endorsement OR have the ability to obtain one
• Meet Fastenal driving record requirements
• Demonstrate strong working knowledge of the DOT regulations in regards to a CDL Driver
• Maintain DOT regulated Drivers Hours-of-Service
• Willingness to drive interstate routes across state lines
• Demonstrate core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
• Lift up to 60 lbs. and maneuver up to 150 lbs.
• Successfully complete the required DOT drug and alcohol screens, road test, employment verification and background check
