About the position

The Healthcare Transportation Driver for the Outpatient Opioid Treatment Program is responsible for safely transporting patients to specified locations and driving the mobile treatment unit. This role is crucial in providing access to care for individuals seeking recovery from Opioid Use Disorder, ensuring a professional and supportive environment during transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Drive company vehicles in a safe and conscientious manner complying with Company policies and procedures as well as State transportation laws.
  • Interact with staff and patients in a professional manner, reporting any suspicious behavior to the Clinic Director and/or supervisors.
  • Monitor parking area to ensure that no loitering or misconduct takes place, ensuring safety and patient compliance.
  • Drive the mobile unit to destination as scheduled and in a timely manner.
  • Assist patients as they get into and out of the vehicle, operating wheelchair lifts as needed.
  • Report traffic delays en route back to supervisor and any incidents or accidents to supervisor.
  • Complete daily visual inspections of the vehicle before and after each trip and report any problems in writing.
  • Check the vehicle to ensure there is an appropriate amount of fuel in the tank prior to leaving the facility.
  • Maintain accurate logbooks, including weekly, quarterly, and annual maintenance checks.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, ensuring interiors are kept clean and disinfected at all times.
  • Schedule, organize, and coordinate vehicle maintenance and repair service shop appointments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Clean driving record with no points.
  • Must have a clear understanding of automobiles and maintenance; handyman or security skills are a big plus.
  • Must be comfortable working in an opioid treatment/recovery environment.
  • Valid Driver's License in the state of Utah is required.

Nice-to-haves
