About the position

The Driver position at Acuity International involves safely transporting children to medical appointments and shelter facilities as part of an on-site children's residential facility. The role requires adherence to safety regulations and operational guidelines while ensuring a secure environment for minors during transportation.

Responsibilities

• Drive assigned vans with children to medical appointments and shelter facility transfers.
• Ensure safe and secure transportation of minors.
• Meet all state and local licensing and insurance requirements.
• Assist with inspection of vans for damage and cleaning daily.
• Conduct transfers in a timely manner while following all traffic laws and Acuity driving policies.
• Provide documentation of all duties while on shift.
• Limit driving time to twelve (12) hours in any 15-hour period, adhering to federal guidelines.
• Participate in safety meetings and training, and support safety goals.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Requirements

• Bilingual - Fluent in Spanish and English.
• At least 21 years old.
• Valid driver's license.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Clean criminal background check.
• Clean child abuse and neglect or child protective services check (CAN).
• Clean driving record.
• Able to multi-task, detail-oriented, organized, and possess excellent verbal and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Demonstrated operations experience.
• CDL Passenger endorsed preferred to drive 15 passenger vans or larger.
