About the position
The Driver III position at CEVA Logistics involves operating heavy and tractor-trailer trucks to transport cargo safely and efficiently. The role emphasizes safety, customer service, and adherence to DOT regulations while managing the loading and unloading of freight. This position is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the cargo and ensuring timely deliveries, contributing to CEVA's mission of providing exceptional logistics solutions globally.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy and tractor-trailer trucks to transport cargo to and from various destinations.
- Follow all safety rules and DOT regulations while driving.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
- Ensure cargo is properly secured and safe during transport.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Report any irregularities related to cargo pick-up and delivery.
- Maintain communication with the dispatch office regarding delays or emergencies.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year of verifiable CDL Class A or B driving experience, or 5 years of industry driving experience in lieu of a diploma.
- Valid state issued Class C Driver's License.
- Hazardous materials endorsement required.
- Acceptable driving record as defined by DOT regulations.
- Must meet physical requirements established by the DOT and have a current valid medical card.
- Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).
- Forklift Driver Certification and DOT Dangerous Goods Certification may be required.
