About the position
The Driver Manager at Legend Transportation is responsible for overseeing dispatch operations and ensuring effective communication between drivers and customers. This role focuses on enhancing customer satisfaction and operational efficiency through proactive problem-solving and relationship management.
Responsibilities
- Manage the daily dispatch of drivers, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of freight while optimizing routes for efficiency.
- Serve as the primary liaison between customers and the dispatch team, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and satisfied with our service.
- Proactively identify and address drivers' and customers' needs to enhance satisfaction and maintain high service standards.
- Build and maintain sustainable relationships through open and interactive communication with drivers and customer accounts.
- Provide timely and accurate information using appropriate communication tools and methods, including email, phone, and conference calls.
- Address and resolve complaints from drivers and customers, offering effective solutions and alternatives quickly.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all interactions and communications with drivers and customers.
- Adhere to all company policies and guidelines, ensuring a consistent and professional approach across all operations.
- Go the extra mile to engage and support drivers and customers, fostering a positive and collaborative environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dispatch operations and customer service within the transportation or logistics industry.
- Strong track record of meeting or exceeding performance goals.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and DOT Hours of Service regulations.
- Ability to adapt to different personalities and situations effectively, ensuring a high level of customer and driver orientation.
- High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in logistics, business administration, or related field preferred.
