About the position

The CDL Truck Driver I position at Hormel Foods is responsible for the daily movement of swine and feed, ensuring compliance with bio-security protocols. The role requires a dependable individual who can work independently and as part of a team, with a strong emphasis on safety and communication. The driver will be expected to maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License and perform various duties related to the transportation of livestock.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the accurate delivery of product to the appropriate customer.
• Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner.
• Responsible for the safe operation of company equipment according to applicable state and federal laws.
• Maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License.
• Report all damage to company equipment.
• Responsible for pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Daily cleaning and disinfecting to meet bio-security protocols and vaccinating of weaned piglets.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Current, valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Basic mechanical skills
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
• Flexible and able to respond quickly to changing job demands

• Excellent animal husbandry skills
