About the position

The Driver/Patient Transportation Coordinator at Providence PACE/ElderPlace is responsible for safely transporting geriatric and physically limited participants to and from their destinations using regular or specially equipped vehicles. This role is crucial in supporting the health and independence of older adults in the community, ensuring they receive the care they need through reliable transportation services.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up and deliver ElderPlace participants to and from their destinations.
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of participants during transportation.
  • Maintain vehicles in good working condition and report any issues.
  • Assist participants with boarding and disembarking from vehicles as needed.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.

Requirements

  • National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association within 6 months of hire.
  • 5 years of driving experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Education to meet certification, license or registration requirements.
  • 2 years of driving experience with a large passenger van or small bus.
  • 2 years of experience transporting people with special needs.
  • 1 year of experience in transporting individuals with special mobility needs.
