About the position

The Ready Mix Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a concrete mixer truck, delivering ready-mix concrete to various job sites. This role requires driving in diverse conditions, ensuring product quality, and maintaining customer satisfaction while adhering to safety regulations and company standards.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive truck to and from destination applying knowledge of DOT driving regulations and area roads
• Check loads to ensure product is being hauled in an appropriate and safe manner
• Estimate slump of concrete and distinguish between proper and improper mixes
• Verify directions with plant personnel before leaving the plant
• Develop extensive working relationships with customers to maximize opportunities for CEMEX
• Keep equipment clean and maintain personal appearance
• Maintain radio contact with supervisor/dispatch for delivery instructions
• Complete pre and post-trip inspections on truck equipment and supplies
• Perform roadside repairs as needed
• Maintain good working knowledge of city traffic routes
• Adhere to all CEMEX, D.O.T., and O.S.H.A. rules and regulations
• Meet or exceed company safety standards

Requirements

• Must possess a valid commercial driver's license (CDL A or B)
• High School diploma preferred
• Acceptable CSA MVR - No DUI's or DWI's in the last 5 years, no more than 3 moving violations in the previous 3 years
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations
