The Driver Trainee position at US Foods is designed for new CDL Class A drivers who are eager to start a career in the foodservice industry. Responsibilities
- Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled delivery times.
- Carefully unload products from the trailer using a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place them in designated storage areas.
- Verify the accuracy of deliveries with customers and obtain proper signatures.
- Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable.
- Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance the client experience.
- Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have a valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications.
- Less than six months of commercial driving experience or less than three months of experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required.
- Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations.
- Must be able to read and communicate in the English language.
