Responsibilities

• Drive vehicles over specified routes or to specified destinations according to time schedules, complying with traffic regulations to ensure that passengers have a smooth and safe ride.
• Park vehicles at loading areas so that passengers can board.
• Inspect vehicles and check gas, oil, and water levels prior to departure.
• Handle passenger emergencies or disruptions.
• Report delays or accidents.
• Advise passengers to be seated and orderly while on vehicles.
• Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort.
• Maintain cleanliness of bus or motor coach.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Valid driver's license for the last 3 years.
• Able to perform the physical requirements of the position, including the safe operation of the assigned vehicle.
• Able to read and understand route sheet and simple instructions.
• Effective communication with passengers, parents, and school officials.
• Able to complete pre & post-trip inspections.
• Able to maintain passenger counts and fairly implement bus rules without discrimination.
• Able to work in a team environment and take direction from supervisors.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in driving or related fields is a plus, but not required.
