About the position
As a Driver for Sierra Forest Products, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient distribution of specialty forest products. This position offers the opportunity to enhance your skills while positively impacting customer experiences and operational efficiencies. You will be responsible for operating a tractor trailer, complying with safety regulations, and maintaining accurate logs and reports.
Responsibilities
- Operate a tractor trailer and potentially straight truck as needed.
- Comply with applicable legislation including safety operation, carriage of goods, driver's hours, occupational health and safety, and applicable traffic laws.
- Perform pre-trip vehicle inspection to ensure mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Maintain daily logs, inspection logs and other necessary paperwork.
- Fill reports such as Driver logbook, inspection report (pre-trip, enroute, post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, accident, or incident reports.
- Greet customers in a positive and professional manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A valid AZ license.
- Minimum 3 years behind the wheel experience.
- A clean Drivers Abstract Report.
- Experience with flatbed and product strapping.
- Flexible to start between the hours of 4am and 7am.
- Physical capabilities required to drive a truck for long periods.
- Physically capable of opening and closing curtains on the trailer, strap and secure the load.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in the lumber products industry.
- Previous customer service experience.
