About the position
The Driver position at Adams Communications Co involves safely operating commercial motor vehicles and material handling equipment to transport printed materials. The role requires adherence to DOT regulations and includes responsibilities such as loading, unloading, and preparing orders for shipment. The position primarily operates during overnight shifts from the Owatonna Distribution Center.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial motor vehicles and forklifts.
- Load, unload, and transport cargo to specified destinations.
- Verify load conformance with shipping documents and ensure secure distribution.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Comply with all DOT standards and regulations, including maintaining hours of service logs.
- Assist in pulling and preparing orders for shipment when not transporting cargo.
- Submit all documentation to the Transportation Manager in a timely manner.
- Make periodic overnight deliveries.
- Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Valid Class C MN Driver's license
- Ability to drive for long distances
- Experience in loading and unloading cargo
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout the shift
- Ability to lift and stack products between 10-35 pounds and up to 80 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work in inclement weather
