About the position

The Driver position at River's Edge Rehabilitation & Living Center involves providing transportation services for patients, ensuring their safety and comfort during trips to appointments and admissions. The role is essential in supporting the clinical experience by assisting disabled and elderly residents, while also maintaining the vehicle and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Secures passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trips.
• Assists disabled and/or elderly residents in and out of the vehicle and buildings, including doctor's offices.
• Assists all departments in the delivery and pick-up of related work items, such as x-rays, pharmaceuticals, and medical records, while adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
• Cleans and services the vehicle on a regular schedule.
• Remains flexible and available for special occasions and special schedules.
• Uses tact and understanding with facility personnel, residents, family members, and outside community contacts.

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
• Previous experience working in a healthcare environment preferred.
